Vlad Tuinov: Concentrated, calm, purposeful.

On his opponents and fights, on the start with Martial arts, on spare time and many other things on the eve of “Fortune favours the brave”, W5 & Rebuy Stars show.
Check the interview with Vladislav “Diamond” Tuinov, a young rising star of world kickboxing from Russian “Chadins’ school”.
4th of June Vlad will step into the ring against Croatian Luka Tomic of “Pit bull” GYM, Split. The bout against teammate of Agron Preteni will become the 24 in Vlad’s professional career (23-22-1) and will take place in super fight category during W5 & “Rebuy Stars” show in Supernova mall, Zagreb.
Hello Vlad . For starters, could you introduce yourself to our readers?
Hello! My name is Vladislav Tuinov, I’m 18 years old. I’m from Russian city Oryol, where I was born and living at the time being.

When did you start with martial arts?
I came to the GYM by coincidence when I was 7 years old. The intention was to attend a swimming pool, but I went another turn and I had met my future trainer Andrey Chadin. So we are together since time I was a child. Remember that my trainer told us a lot of stories about professional kickboxing and very soon all my dreams were connected with this sport.
Which is the victory in your career that you treasure the most?
You know I have got no so bad amateur career where my recod is…don’t remember the exact number right now, but significantly more than 200 bouts. And I’m still proceeding in that field. In amateur ring I regularly catch up the opprtunity to step in the ring as many times as possible. I’m happy when I’m in the ring.
Professional fights take place much more rarely. And for me personally it is absolutely another question which is straight connected with my future. I have got 23 professional bouts and 22 wins. Each of these wins is very important and valuable for me. I respect each my opponent.

What is your life motto?
My motto is very simple. To keep moving forward to my goal and never betray the people which were kind to me.
Where and when give you nickname Brilliant?
This nickname was invented in World version W5 which is my promotion company. I do appreciate such a high measure. The full nickname sound like “The diamond of Oryol city”. But it’s not very convenient to write down or to spell during the tournament. So “Diamond”.
In fact it was Brilliant some time ago. But marketing people of W5 have been discussed that with all the team and we decided that “Diamond” is more correct word. The intention was to put it as diamond. The question is that in Russian language «diamond» sounds as «brilliant» exactly with accent to sound “a”. Obviously this was our misunderstanding in the start. Lol)

You fought in W5. Your opinion of W5?
First of all this is company gave me a chance and trust to me. And I’m very grateful for that. You see my performance so you could suggest how all the team is working. World version W5 is among few of the most high class promotions all over the world for sure. I’m happy to work with my team from W5. I know that some people could say that GLORY is dominating as kickboxing company. But I’m sure that W5 is the same.

You have an impressive score – do you look for a particular rematch?
Not now. I keep my track and moving forward to my goal. Never mind what the next fight is. Never mind who is the next opponent. I’m ready to fight against any.
Many people think that Martial arts is not a sport at all, but violence. What is your message to those people?
Have no big desire to make a discussion with such a people. Don’t think it’s possible to prove smth to them via words, but I could demonstrate…hahaha. I think they should to come and watch my fights then they will fall in love with that sport.
You are an inspiration to many young fighters. What advice would you give to those starting out?
Very short advice. You should to do a great job to acchive something. Never mind whether we are talking about a GYM or any other field of occupation. Perform your plans boldly. As you may be know, fortune favours the brave. Lol
What are your goals and wishes?
I do want to become the great fighter and sportsman. I wish my name will be in one row with such distingushed name as Muhammad Ali. I will do my best to become successful in my business.
Where and with who you train ?
My GYM is “Chadin’s school” of Russian city Oryol. And my trainers are Andrey Chadin and his father Vladimir Chadin.

When and where is your next fight?
Let us see what will happen tomorrow. But my next opponent is supposed to be Milan “Minci” Pales of Slovakia. We will step into the ring June 18 during the second event of W5 and Rebuy Stars European series which will be hosted in Prievidza.
Which fight do you remember best?
I respect each of my opponents and that’s why I really remember each of my professional fights very well. Besides all the things, I have to. This is my job. If I forget something

You travel around the world a lot. Can you share some anecdotes from your travels?
Because of my job I’m travelling a lot. But most of the time I highly focused on my business and don’t pay much attention to what is happening around. Of course there were lots of different odds and funny stories. May be will tell you next time. Need to think about that. Not all the things is possible to present…lol)
When we meet in Vienna first time you emanate positive energy. Are there moments when you are in a bad mood at all?
There are very distinctive moments when I make my weight before the fights. Sometimes I really hate to cut these kilos. But very soon after I do it I’m fine.
Can you tell us more about your last victory ?
I want to tell about two last victories…lol…I’m very grateful to Cedric Manhoef for he and his team from MIKE’s GYM came to fight against me in Moscow. There were some ref decisions during our fight…for example the first knocdown which I made really wasn’t knockdown. But finally, as I know, it wasn’t even counted. So fair play took it’s place.
Hope Cedric not regret about this fight and have not any offence with W5.
Another fight is my last fight against Angaar Nasr of team Holzken. Really tough fighter and it wasn’t easy walk for me. I’m very happy I won this fight. I proud that W5 one more time gave me a chance to step into the ring against such a skilled fighter as Angaar is.
What is your favourite food?
All the food I do like after weight cutting.
Describe yourself in three words?
Concentrated, calm, purposeful.
What do you do in your spare time, if there is any?
If I have any spare time I spend it with my family which supporting me very much during all the way and of course with my sweet heart, my lovely lady.
What’s your opinion on the use of prohibited substances in sports?
Prohibited substance is prohibited. I took meldonium before it become banned stuff. Since that time I dont use it in my sport pharmacology. But as for me it is really strange to ban such useful for heart muscles medicine.
What goes up in your mind when walking into the ring – are you focused on the fight, what is the level of nervousness and adrenalin?
As they say I’mas cool as cucumber.
Where do you see yourself in 10 years?
I see myself at the same place…in my country and in my city Oryol…but I’m obviously going to be a litle bit more famous…lol)) One of my goals is to make visible for young people that daily labour and porposefulness is guaranty of future success.
Your message to fans and friends?
I highly appreciate their support and their empathy. Their emotions provide me with additional energy while I’m preparing to my fights. Thank you very much to all of them. I wish all my fans could charge from the energy of my fights and become more successful in their life.
