Usman vs. Covington was originally targetted for UFC’s New York card in November, but the company failed to strike a deal with the pair of fighters as they eventually booked Jorge Masvidal vs. Nate Diaz.
Holloway will make the fourth defence of his 145lbs title against surging Australian contender Volkanovski, who’s unbeaten inside the famed Octagon and on a seven-fight winning streak which includes a victory over Jose Aldo.
