Philipp Wiesenhofer : Believe in yourself, in your club and in your team behind you.

Hello Philipp and thank you very much for your time.
How old were you when you first started training martial arts?
Hello fightmadness – team, first of all thank you for the opportunitiy of the interview.
I have started with martial arts when I was 21 years old…I trained one year Kickboxing in the first club, but I changed to a other Gym and trained almost two yeras MMA there, because it was only possibility for improvement. Then I had a 2 ½ year break, because my son Julius was born.
With my current Trainer Hrvoje Kisasondi I work now almost 22 months and went back to my true passion Kickboxing – K1 rules.
What excited you about martial arts?
There are more than one reason… but one is the fact that not everyone is made for this sport.
Further the head to head comparision with your opponent and yourself. But all in all everything about martial art is exiting.
Why exactly did you choose martial arts ?
First I started with martial arts, because lifting weights become boring and didnt satisfy me longer… Nowadays I can say and recommend to everyone, its the best way to change your life, your lifestyle and doing something good for yourself.

How old were you when you first stepped in the ring?
I was 21 years and my first fight was in the discipline lightcontact, in the same year I had my first K1 – amateur fight. My first professionell fight I had with 26 years, togehter with my current coach.
You are an inspiration to many young people only starting out . What’s your advice to all young fighters?
Be happy that you choose this sport, this way of living, even if it is sometimes or most of the time hard, but at least for me nothing is comparable. Further never give up and belive in yourself, in your club and in your team behind you.
Which is the victory in your career that you treasure the most?
For the Vicrotry till now, definitly the last, where I fought for the WBU – European Title – Superlight Weight, but for the fights it is definitly the final fight of the Savate European-Championship.
In your opinion, what’s the secret of success in martial arts?
To belive in your self and be willed to risk something, like your time, your body and furhter be ready to change your mind/head.
Many people think that martial arts are not a sport at all, but just violence. What is your message to those people?
They should join a training and an event and should rethink their opinion. We are all sportmen and face us each other with respect… We train in groups together, like a soccer team, we are like a small family… Of course it is not a soft sport, but the target of a fight is not to be violent, the targe is to be better as your opponent and giving your best… we have to show this not with a ball, we show this with boxing and kicks, but it should be clear that it is still different to a brawl in a bar…
Describe yourself in three words ?
chaotic, ambitious, determined

What your opinion on referee trickeries and manipulations?
Till now i was never a part or involved in such things. Clear is that it is not fair and not good for our or other kind of spor and I think, if you are clear the better one, they will not steal.
Which fight do you remember best?
The European Titlefight in Savate Combat.
What is your life motto?
Never give up, you can achive everything what you want if you are willed to work for it and risk something.
What are your goals and wishes?
Current I do step after step, fight after fight… In the end I hope to fetch all what is possible, but I would be very exited, after my three possibilities for a European Title, to get the chance to attack a World Title.
