Lomachenko has agreed to give Lopez $800,000 of his own agreed purse

Vasiliy Lomachenko has agreed to give Teofimo Lopez $800,000 of his own agreed purse, in order to attempt to make a Lightweight World Title unification come to fruition, according to promoter Bob Arum of Top Rank.

Unified WBA (Super)/WBO/RING Magazine Lightweight World Champion Lomachenko originally accepted a purse of $3.4million to fight IBF Champion Lopez this October, which Arum said was already a reduction on his normal, contractually agreed fight minimum. Lopez, however, rejected a $1.2million offer to face Lomachenko and demanded a purse of $2million.

Arum says that Lomachenko has now told Top Rank to give $800,000 of his purse to Lopez in order to make the fight happen and meet his $2million request, with Lomachenko now agreeing a $2.6million purse.

The ball is now in the court of Lopez, Arum said
